Walk-Away Installations
Walk-away deployment lets a camera installed at a factory or warehouse reach the store with minimal on-site setup. Preparation happens before dispatch; the customer or rep completes outlet and planogram assignment remotely. VistaZ Power also needs to be connected to power at the store.
Before dispatch
Follow the Factory and Warehouse Setup Guide for master data, camera-to-asset association, activation selection and the deployment infographic. Register factory and warehouse locations so staged cabinets are recognized correctly.
Activation enables daily GSM tracking, including while unplugged. Activate VistaZ before dispatch; VistaZ Power warehouse activation is optional when unplugged tracking is needed. Follow the activation purpose and timing guidance, including the 14-day deployment window and subscription implications. Validation is optional and recommended.
If the camera will be installed at the store, use Field installation.
From dispatch to store operation
- Dispatch the prepared cabinet. Activated devices support tracking during transit and before store power is connected, subject to coverage.
- Connect VistaZ Power to power at the store. If warehouse activation was skipped, it can now send pings; power connection alone does not permanently enable unplugged tracking.
- Pings indicating movement from a known factory or warehouse to a new location can generate a Location Mismatch alert.
- A customer or rep reviews the location and assigns the outlet. Assignment automatically triggers Installation, Take Picture and required configuration commands.
- The first image supports a proposed store-level POG (Planogram). Approve the proposal or assign a saved POG.
- Once both outlet and POG are assigned, the asset appears online in Playbook.
Resolve Location Mismatch
- Open Playbook → Tasks → Alert Overview and filter for Location Mismatch.
- Find the asset, for example by serial number, and review its reported location.
- Choose the correct nearby outlet or search by name/code, then confirm assignment.
- The alert closes and the system automatically triggers the configured installation and image commands. No manual command step is needed.
If no appropriate outlet exists, leave the alert open and contact CoolR to add the missing outlet. If the destination is known but the alert workflow cannot be used, provide the destination to CoolR for manual assignment.
Assign the planogram
After an image is received, review the No Planogram alert when present. Approve the proposed POG or select an existing planogram. Create a planogram if needed, then confirm assignment.
Operational limits
Walk-away deployment still requires preparation and remote follow-up. Location accuracy varies, and poor cellular coverage can delay tracking and location alerts. Review the reported location before assigning an outlet; a ping alone does not mean the asset has completed store setup.
