Asset Performance

Overview

The Asset Performance module provides comprehensive monitoring and evaluation capabilities for your refrigeration assets. This feature automatically categorizes and tracks asset health, camera functionality, and operational status across your entire fleet, enabling proactive management and rapid issue resolution.

The Asset Performance module delivers:

  • Real-time visibility into asset health and communication status across your network
  • Automated classification of assets based on camera type, connectivity, and image capture activity
  • Actionable insights through "No Communication," "No Image," and "No Door" status indicators
  • Performance trending that tracks image capture patterns over rolling 7-day periods

This module empowers field teams and managers to quickly identify underperforming assets, prioritize maintenance activities, and ensure optimal operational efficiency.

Asset Filtering and Grouping

The Asset Performance module organizes data through three distinct views, each designed for specific monitoring needs:

ViewScopeGrouping
Asset StatusActive assets with valid location assignmentsClient, Hardware Type, Camera Type
Image ActivityAssets with recent image capture (last 7 days)Client, Camera Type, Image Frequency
Asset DetailsComplete asset inventory for selected clientDetailed records for all active assets

Camera Type Classification

Assets are automatically classified based on their camera configuration to ensure accurate monitoring and reporting:

Camera TypeAssignment Criteria
RetrofitAsset has a connected monitoring device
OEMAsset's manufacturer is designated as OEM with no connected device
NoneAsset does not meet Retrofit or OEM criteria
Priority Rule

When an asset has both a connected device and OEM manufacturer designation, Retrofit classification takes priority.

Asset Status Categories

The system automatically assigns status indicators to help you quickly identify assets requiring attention:

Active Status (Blank)

Assets operating normally without alerts. This includes:

  • Assets at deleted or inactive locations
  • Assets not assigned to a location
  • Assets without camera monitoring (Camera Type = None)

No Communication

Indicates loss of connectivity between the asset and monitoring system:

  • Timeframe: No device ping received in the last 36 hours
  • Applies to: Retrofit and OEM camera types
  • Location: Asset must be at an active location

No Image

Indicates camera connectivity is maintained but no images have been captured:

  • Timeframe: Device ping received within 36 hours, but no images captured in the last 36 hours
  • Applies to: Retrofit and OEM camera types
  • Location: Asset must be at an active location
  • Note: Does not apply to assets with door-mounted cameras (see No Door Activity below)

No Door Activity

A specific status for door-mounted cameras indicating connectivity is maintained but no door activity detected:

  • Timeframe: Device ping received within 36 hours, but no door activity detected in the last 36 hours
  • Applies to: Assets with door handle positions (Left or Right configuration) on Retrofit and OEM camera types
  • Location: Asset must be at an active location
  • Note: This status is assigned instead of "No Image" for door-mounted cameras when there's no door activity
Status Priority

The system assigns only one status per asset. "No Communication" and "No Image" are mutually exclusive because "No Image" requires active communication (ping within 36 hours) while "No Communication" indicates no ping.

Door-Mounted Cameras

For assets with door-mounted cameras, "No Door Activity" is assigned instead of "No Image" when there's no door activity detected.

Image Capture Performance

Track camera performance trends through rolling 7-day image capture metrics:

Performance LevelDefinition
Highly ActiveImages captured on 4 or more days in the past 7 days
Moderate ActivityImages captured on 1 to 3 days in the past 7 days

These metrics help you:

  • Identify cameras with intermittent performance issues
  • Prioritize maintenance for assets with declining image capture rates
  • Monitor the effectiveness of recent maintenance or connectivity improvements
Best Practice

Review image capture trends weekly to proactively address connectivity or camera hardware issues before they impact business operations.
