How image recognition learns
Image recognition models learn to distinguish products from labeled examples. They use visual features such as packaging shape, color, logos, and size to identify a product.
Why recognition can be difficult
Products may look similar, use seasonal packaging, or appear partly hidden. Camera angle, lighting, glare, and condensation can obscure the features used for recognition.
For example, two flavors may share almost identical packaging, or a product may face away from the camera. Color alone is not enough to identify the SKU reliably.
How recognition improves
Training uses examples from different product angles, packaging versions, and store conditions. Reviewed errors help identify gaps in the training data and guide further training.
