VistaZ Power

VistaZ Power — Product Datasheet

Product Overview

VistaZ Power is CoolR's slim, always-on smart camera designed for retail coolers and freezers. It draws primary power directly from the cooler's DC supply and automatically switches to an internal battery backup during power interruptions — ensuring uninterrupted image capture and telemetry without manual intervention.

VistaZ Power is part of the StoreAware platform and delivers images and telemetry directly into sales workflows and automated replenishment systems.

Power

VistaZ Power connects to the cooler's DC supply via the standard pigtail power harness (Cable 002) — a factory-terminated barrel jack cable supplied with every unit.

Power Consumption Characteristics

Recommended input voltage range: 7–24 V DC. 5 V operation is supported as a constrained case only up to the standard Cable 002 harness rating and is therefore not recommended for normal installations. The device features automatic battery failover on power loss and automatic recharge on power restoration. The max input current and power values below are for supply sizing and worst-case input draw, not typical continuous consumption.

Measurement Methodology

  1. Input voltage supplied using a regulated power supply (RPS) at 5 V, 7 V, 12 V, and 24 V.
  2. Device current and voltage measured using a Joulescope precision analyzer connected in series with the input supply.
  3. Measurement duration: 24 hours continuous operation.
  4. Testing includes normal operation with idle, image capture, cellular/LTE transmission cycles and battery charging.
  5. Device configuration: Captures 2 images per day.

Note: Energy consumption increases with higher input voltage due to conversion losses.
